There are many single mom scholarships that will pay for college or at least help with tuition fees. All moms have to do is apply for them.

Single mom scholarships can be important to a family's well-being. Getting a college education can help single mothers raise their incomes, get better jobs, and improve job retention according to Community Service Society of New York. Single mothers are put in the unique position of having to care for children and provide income to live on by herself, which makes going to college difficult. Thankfully, there are single mom scholarships that will help pay for tuition and expenses. This can help take some of the burden off of the mother.

Here are some single mom scholarships that can be applied for on the web.

Project Working Mom: Putting Education to Work

Project Working Mom: Putting Education to Work is a scholarship for moms that want to go back to school so that they can get a better paying job. Each month, Project Working Mom gives away a $4,000 scholarship that can go towards college tuition, supplies, books and fees.

Project Working Mom’s representative, Jenny Foust, says that winners of the contest submit well articulated essays on why they need online education to meet their career and personal goals.

All scholarship applicants must be a working mom (they also accept submission from dads) who wants to receive an online education and are 21 years old or older.

Project Working Mom has also teamed up with The Tyra Show to offer free ride scholarships to moms. Mothers can apply for the free ride scholarship at The Tyra Show Website.

The R.O.S.E. Fund

The R.O.S.E. Fund, which stands for Regaining One's Self Esteem, is a scholarship and assistance program that is awarded to women who have overcome domestic violence and want to return to school.

This scholarship for women provides $2,000 per semester for college tuition. Applicants must reapply for the scholarship every semester to keep receiving it. Applicants simply need to fill out the form on The R.O.S.E. Fund website to apply.
